Wake Up, Little Sparrow

Jul 30, 03:28 PM

So I’m here in Washington and it’s absolutely beautiful everywhere I look. I keep asking myself why I live in Ohio when there’s places in the same country that exist and are as visual pleasing as it is here. I’m kind of in love with Seattle and definitely have plans to come back someday soon. I met up with a few longtime friends for delicious gelato and to take some photos which was nice.

We spent a few days in Seattle then headed to the coast to stay in a charming little house on the beach. I haven’t had internet access all week so I’ve been unable to post these past couple of days. Thankfully I found a cute little cafe which boasts of free wifi and sells the most delicious soy chai I’ve had in a long time.

Ethnic Print Dress: Goodwill ($5)
Black Sheer Lingerie Tank: Goodwill ($1)
Cream Cape: Goodwill ($10)
Black Sandals: Borrowed from a friend
Brown Hat: Charlotte Russe ($10)

The beach wasn’t horribly warm with highs of about 65 degrees but regardless it was nice to sit by the water and write poetry and feel horribly romantic (and slightly chilled). More photos once I get home. I dusted off my film camera and took some cool shots on the trip which I can’t wait to get developed and post.

Btw. I did a mini interview on a blog here.
Also my collaboration with Krystalrae designs was posted on her blog here

Now That I Know

Jul 22, 03:13 PM

Never to sleep
I guess I am to be,
Sleepless and never holy

Lost and ever wandering
I guess I am to be,
Loveless, and may the cloudiness of my mind prevail

Bird

I finally made the effort to go out and take some decent photos of my outfit from the day. Jumping around and twirling in the 90 degree heat isn’t really my idea of a good time but I do it all for you, my dear readers.

A friend of my mother’s stopped by the other day with a container full of old costume jewelry she was trying to get rid of. I was more than willing to take some pieces off her hands and I came across a whole assortment of beautiful ethnic/african inspired pieces of jewelry. These beautiful purple and turquoise wooden statement earrings had to be in my possession as soon as I saw them, along with this great zebra bracelet with an actual wooden zebra head on it. It came with matching zebra head earrings and a pin that I’ll wear on an other occasion.

I’m going on a vacation with the family this upcoming week which I’m pretty excited for. I’m flying out to Seattle on Friday night and won’t be back until the 31st. I’ll try and make a post or two while I’m gone but can’t make any promises. Hopefully I’ll come back with some new finds and I’m finally giving my polaroid camera that I found at Goodwill the other day for $3 a good use.

If you could pack your bags and leave right now, which top 3 places would be your dream cheap holidays destination?”

Jean Vest: Salvation Army ($3)

Life After The Sun

Jul 18, 07:49 PM

Every sound, every note – beautiful
All the music in which I wish, I’d drown
All background noise to the deafening drown of my mind
All my thoughts, prone – wander

I <3 NY

I’ve actually never been to New York City so in ways I’m walking around with a lie across my chest, but if I did go I’m sure I would love it. Just a few random shots since I haven’t taken any recent outfit photos in a while.
